1. Swimming makes you hungry so take a healthy snack with you for after
     
  2. You don’t realise you are sweating while swimming which can cause dehydration so take a drink bottle with you onto poolside
     
  3. Drink little and often to avoid feeling full
     
  4. If you are swimming in the evening make sure you have eaten something during the day but try not to eat anything too heavy just before
     
  5. If you are swimming in the morning try to at least eat a cereal bar or biscuit as it is best not to swim on a completely empty stomach
